Ireland’s holy mountain stands looking overlooking Clew Bay and is situated about 8 km outside the town of Westport, Co Mayo. It rises to over 750m above see level taking around two hours to reach the summit.

It was here that many believe that Patrick came to fast and pray for forty days for the Irish people and their response to his message.

It is a place of pilgrimage to this day with up to 25,000 pilgrims climbing its slopes on the last Sunday in July.
